Process

How a minor electrical & smart home visit goes.

  1. 1

    Cut power and verify

Trip the breaker, test with a non-contact voltage tester before touching anything.

  2. 2

    Remove and inspect

Pull the existing device, check the wiring for damage or aluminum, confirm the box is grounded.

  3. 3

    Install

Wire the new device per code, secure to the box, button up the cover plate.

  4. 4

    Test and walk through

Restore power, test every switch and outlet on the circuit. For smart-home: pair the device, set up the app, hand you the phone working.

Frequently asked questions

Are you a licensed electrician?
We handle device-level electrical that doesn't require a license or permits — outlets, switches, fixtures, fans, smart-home devices. Panel upgrades, new circuits, and whole-house re-wiring go to a licensed electrician.
What electrical work do you NOT do?
No panel work, no new circuits, no whole-house re-wiring, no aluminum-wire remediation, no EV charger installs, nothing requiring a permit. If your job needs a licensed electrician, we'll tell you up front.
Will you set up the smart-home app on my phone?
Yes. We pair every device, walk you through the app, set up automations if you want them, and make sure notifications are working before we leave.
What if my wifi doesn't reach the device?
We test signal strength at the install location. If it's weak, we'll recommend where to place a mesh node or extender to fix it.
Can you set up devices I already bought?
Absolutely. Most of our smart-home calls are people who bought the device, opened the box, and decided they'd rather have someone else deal with the wiring and setup.
How many outlets or switches can you replace in one visit?
Typically 10–20 devices in a full day. We batch the work so you're not paying for a truck roll per outlet.
Is it safe to work on electrical myself?
Simple things like swapping a switch plate cover, sure. But anything involving wires should be done by someone who knows what they're doing. A wrong connection can start a fire that won't show up for months.
