Algonquin straddles two eras — the original village core along the Fox River with pre-1950 homes, and the major subdivision growth from 1995–2008 west of Randall Road. Trails of Woods Creek, Willoughby Farms, Saddlewood — typical late-90s to mid-2000s production homes. The riverfront homes need more exterior maintenance from humidity and freeze-thaw cycles. The newer subdivisions are showing the wear of 20+ years on builder-grade finishes.
