Process

How a carpentry & trim visit goes.

  1. 1

    Measure and miter-plan

Walk the room, measure every wall, plan the miter cuts so the long pieces land in the right places.

  2. 2

    Cut and dry-fit

Cut on the chop saw, dry-fit every joint, sand the cuts before nailing.

  3. 3

    Install

Nail into studs, glue the miters, set the nails below the surface for fill.

  4. 4

    Caulk and finish

Fill nail holes, caulk to the wall, prime ready for paint.

Frequently asked questions

Can you match my existing trim profile?
Usually — most profiles are stocked at the mill or big-box. If yours is a custom profile from a 1970s build, we'll bring a sample to a millwork shop and include the selected material in the estimate.
Do you paint the trim after install?
We install primed-ready. Paint is a separate scope under our Painting service — most homeowners combine the two.
How long does a room of baseboard take?
A typical 12×12 room takes 4–6 hours including cuts, install, caulk, and fill. We can usually do 3–4 rooms in a day.
Can you fix soft spots in my floor?
Soft flooring can point to an active leak, damaged subfloor, or framing movement. That diagnosis and structural repair are outside our current finish-carpentry scope; we will flag it before scheduling trim work over the area.
Do you do crown molding on tall ceilings?
Yes — we have a 12-foot ladder and a scaffold. Above that, we'd want to scaffold the room properly and that adds time.
What about rotted window sills and door frames?
We can replace non-structural finish trim after the moisture source is corrected. If damage extends into structural framing, we stop and recommend the appropriate structural or building-envelope specialist.
