From aging-in-place safety customers

What homeowners say.

Had them out to install grab bars in my mom's bathroom and a new railing on the front steps. They were patient, explained everything, and cleaned up after themselves. She feels a lot safer now.

Frequently asked questions

Can grab bars go into drywall?
No. A grab bar anchored only to drywall will pull out the first time someone leans on it hard. We anchor into a stud, or open the wall and add solid wood blocking, then patch the drywall. The cost difference is $145 vs $285 per bar — worth it.
Do you do free assessments?
Yes. We come walk the home, talk through what's hard for the person living there, and write up a prioritized list. No charge for the visit, no obligation to hire us.
Will Medicare or insurance cover any of this?
Medicare and most private insurance don't cover home modifications. Some long-term care policies do. The Illinois Department of Aging has a Community Care Program that covers some installations for income-qualified residents — we can point you at the right intake.
Can you make a bathroom safer without a full remodel?
Often, yes. Grab bars, comfort-height toilet, non-slip tread, better lighting, and a hand-held shower head together cost $1,500–$3,000 and dramatically improve a bathroom for someone with mobility limits. A full bath remodel for accessibility runs $20K+.
What about stair lifts?
We don't install stair lifts — they require a manufacturer-trained tech and a track system specific to the brand. We'll refer you to a local installer and we can handle any prep work like railings or trim adjustments.
Do you work with occupational therapists?
We coordinate with OTs who do home assessments. If your loved one has an OT recommendation list, bring it — we'll price out exactly what's on it.
