McHenry has a higher share of waterfront and lake-access homes than most of our footprint — Pistakee Bay, the Fox River, and Pistakee Lake all run through. Lake homes mean more deck work, more rot repair around water-side trim, and more emphasis on gutter and exterior maintenance. Inland, you've got 1970s–1990s ranches and split-levels in subdivisions like Whispering Oaks, plus newer builds out near Route 31. Older homes here often have well-and-septic mechanicals — we don't touch the well or septic but we work around them.

Yes. Lake homes need more deck work, more rot repair, and more attention to weather-sealing on the lake-facing side of the house. We're set up for it. Boat dock framing is a different scope — refer to a marine contractor.
Do you handle homes on well and septic?
We work around them. We don't touch the well pump or septic system itself. Anything fixture-level inside the house — faucets, toilets, water softener fittings — we handle as long as the well is supplying water.
What about flood-prone basements after a heavy rain?
We don't do waterproofing or sump pump installs as a primary trade. We can install a backup sump pump if your existing pit is set up for it, and we'll refer you to a basement waterproofing specialist for the bigger jobs.
